Abrar Mujaddadi, Postgraduate in the Department of English, The University of Liverpool, working on racial slurs and translation in English–Arabic subtitling. Her first supervisor is Dr Sofia Lampropoulou.

Royds, K. Kelly's doctoral study explores the intersections of childhood, participatory media and international development. Kelly is also a postgraduate researcher on the 'Dorothy Project', Migration and Mobility: the question of childhood in Chinese and European cinema since 1945, an ARC Future Fellowship project led by Prof. Hemelryk Donald.

PhD Completions

Lim, Julie ‘Race and Belonging in an International City: Overseas Chinese in “new” Shanghai’. Julie is a PhD candidate with the Dept of Media & Communications, University of Sydney. Her thesis is concerned with cosmopolitanism, hospitality, and the overseas Chinese experience in the service industry in Shanghai, where she worked as a foreign English language teacher for various Sino- Australian, British, and Canadian joint university programs. She is currently project coordinator for a number of ARC Linkage-funded research projects in the School of Humanities and Languages, University of New South Wales.
